The Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) offers mobility, independence and safety to people recovering from illness or surgery or wishing to spend their final days in their own homes. The HELP Client Services Volunteer provides administrative support like answering the phone, and coordinating health equipment loans and returns.
Participants in the emergency disaster training will learn about:
-Why is The Salvation Army involved in Emergency Disaster Services
-How do we provide assistance to our communities in British Columbia
-Emergency preparedness tools that can aid in response and recovery
-The roles that The Salvation Army and other community organizations play in response to recovery
-The importance of collaboration
-Incident command services that may already exist or can be established
Make a difference in the life of an individual in your community who is blind or partially sighted! Volunteer for a couple of hours a week to provide community-based support through one-to-one sighted assistance and companionship for someone who is blind or partially sighted.
If you are looking to make that one-on-one connection and help someone within your community, this might be the opportunity for you. We look for volunteers who are friendly, positive, empathetic, responsible, and comfortable working with individuals with vision loss, especially with seniors.
Event Host | Hotels | Coast Hotel & Courtyard Marriott | Event Hosts will be responsible for fielding questions from participants regarding restaurants, sight seeing, transportation and managing the sign up for the activities we have planned for participants.

St. Vincent de Paul is in need of volunteers for the morning shift, 7 - 11 am, or the afternoon shift, 12:00 - 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday to work in the dish pit, help prepare take-out meals, sort food donations, and various cleaning and sanitizing jobs.

Whether an animal is injured, abandoned, or underage, foster care saves lives. Many animals needing remediation or a space to stay if the shelter is full benefit from a foster home. We are in need of foster care volunteers for many kinds of animals in your community!
